Beer production is threatened by Coronavirus disease
Mexico could be left without beer for the next few days, according to the Mexican Brewery Association.
The Mexican government did not place beer production in the essential industries, so the breweries were closed in March following emergency measures due to a corona pandemic.
The president of the Association, Carla Siqueiros, said there were no estimates – how much more beer was left in the stores, but there were reliable reports that prices were rising sharply due to the shortage.
She promised fans of the drink that production would begin as soon as the government approved the return of workers to the factories.
